NFC Cards

Activate a card

Activate an NFC card on arrival, in personalized or anonymous mode, and link it to your profile.

On delivery, a card has the status "in delivery": it must be activated to become working and link to a profile.

Activate your card

  1. Tap the card against your smartphone (or scan the QR code on the back). An activation form opens.
  2. Enter your work email address.
  3. You receive an email containing an activation link (valid for 24 h).
  4. Click the link: the card is activated, linked to your profile, and switches to Profile mode.

Once activated, scanning the card opens your profile page directly.

Example: you receive an anonymous card. You tap it against your phone, enter first.last@company.com, click the link received by email, and the card now shows your profile page on every scan.

Personalized vs anonymous cards

  • Personalized: your name and an email hint are already shown; enter the matching email to claim the card.
  • Anonymous: no name is pre-filled; any user in the organization can activate it with their own email.

For your security, the form always returns a "sent" confirmation, even if the email matches no profile: this avoids revealing who has an account. So check your spam folder if you don't receive the link.

Change a card's behavior

After activation, you (or an administrator) can change the card's mode (Profile, Link, vCard, Default) and its associated URL from the NFC Cards section. See the card modes.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't receive the activation email → check your spam folder, confirm the email spelling, and for a personalized card, be sure to enter the email associated with the profile.
  • The link no longer works → it's valid for 24 h. If it has expired, restart activation from the card.
  • The card does nothing when I tap the phone → turn on NFC, remove a thick case, or scan the QR on the back. See Card troubleshooting.
  • After activation, the scan opens a "private profile" page → the linked page may be set to Private visibility. See Page visibility.
