NFC Cards

Lost card

What to do if an NFC card is lost or stolen — disable, reactivate or replace it.

A card can be marked as lost. In that case, scans can be disabled so it no longer redirects to your profile — useful if it's stolen or misplaced.

Report a lost card

  1. Open NFC Cards and find the card in question.
  2. Mark it as lost.
  3. The associated redirects are disabled: a scan no longer opens your profile.

Example: you lose your card at an airport. You mark it as lost from the dashboard; even if someone scans it, it no longer leads to your profile page.

Recover or replace

  • If you find the card, you can reactivate it to restore the redirects.
  • Otherwise, it can be permanently removed, and you order a new card.

Because your profile is independent of the card, replacing a card doesn't affect your public page or the contacts already collected.

Good to know

  • No data is lost: the profile, public page, vCard and contacts stay intact after replacing a card.
  • A new card must be activated on arrival, just like the first one. See Activate a card.

Troubleshooting

  • A card marked as lost still opens my profile → refresh the page and allow time for propagation; make sure the right card was marked. See Card troubleshooting.
  • I want to reuse a found card → reactivate it from NFC Cards.
