Install the add-in
Deploy the ECARD add-in from the Microsoft 365 admin center, check your license compatibility and resolve common issues.
This page is for Microsoft 365 administrators. The ECARD add-in uses the standard Office/Outlook add-in mechanisms and is deployed from the Microsoft 365 admin center.
Microsoft prerequisites
The ECARD add-in is reserved for users with a Microsoft 365 subscription. Centralized deployment requires:
- a compatible license (see below);
- an active Exchange Online mailbox;
- a Microsoft 365 administrator role to perform the deployment.
Outlook must be installed via the license included in your M365 subscription. Some subscriptions don't include Outlook Desktop — on those, the add-in is only available on Outlook Web (OWA).
Deploy the add-in
- Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center: admin.microsoft.com (or Exchange, depending on your configuration).
- Open Settings → Integrated apps (Add-ins).
- Click Get apps.
- Search for "ECARD", then click Get it now.
- Choose the targeted users: the whole organization, defined groups, or specific users. This lets you test before a global rollout, or target specific teams.
- Confirm the configuration, then click Deploy.
The add-in can take 24 to 72 hours to appear in every user's Outlook client. Once visible, the signature defined in ECARD applies automatically to new emails.
Compatible licenses
Centralized deployment requires a compatible license AND an active Exchange Online mailbox. The Outlook web only note flags licenses that don't include Outlook Desktop.

Common issues
A user has no access to the add-in, even after 72 h
- Check they belong to the group or the targeted users of the deployment.
- Remove them then add them back to the user group to trigger a new deployment.
- Restart their computer to force Outlook to clear its system cache.
- If the problem persists, contact Microsoft support directly.
The add-in is present but no signature is inserted
- Open the add-in panel and check whether an error code appears.
- Check that the user has an active profile in ECARD and an assigned signature.
If a network error message appears, see Network configuration. For rendering problems, see Signature troubleshooting.
