Contact files (vCard)

A vCard (.vcf file) is a standard contact card that anyone can save straight into their phone's address book, with no app and no retyping.

What it's for

• A "Save my contact" button on your profile page.
• The vCard mode of an NFC card or a wallet: on scan, the contact is offered for saving.

Information included

The vCard pulls in your profile data:

• full name;
• email;
• phone numbers (mobile and office);
• job title and company;
• photo;
• links (social media, website).

vCard templates

You design contact file templates under Contact files (vCard), which you assign to your users, groups or tags. Each user then has an up-to-date vCard, generated automatically from their profile.

Creating and assigning a template

1. Open Contact files (vCard).
2. Create a template and choose which information to include.
3. Assign the template to users, groups or tags.
4. Save: each person gets their vCard, generated from their profile.

How your vCard is saved

1. The visitor opens your profile page (or scans your card/wallet in vCard mode).
2. They tap "Save my contact": the .vcf file is offered.
3. The phone adds the card to the address book (iPhone and Android alike).

Good to know

Because the vCard is generated from the profile, any update to the profile is automatically reflected in the downloaded file.

• A contact already saved isn't updated on its own in the recipient's phone: they need to re-save the vCard to get your new information.
• The availability and scope of vCard templates may depend on your plan. See Subscription.

Troubleshooting

• The button saves nothing: check that the card/wallet mode is set to vCard (see Modes & QR code and NFC cards).
• Information is missing from the vCard: it's probably empty in the user's profile.
